The Jackson RR3 Pro Series Rhoads is the latest evolution of a classic instrument designed for technical guitar playing. The 2016 Rhoads RR3 sees the return of the distinctive Ivory with Black Pinstripes finish last seen on a 100 model limited edition in 2007, gold hardware, fitted with Seymour Duncan JB & ’59 pickups and a Floyd Rose Tremolo make this an instrument that is built for metal…

The Rhoads is the guitar that started it all. The first instrument to ever bear the name “Jackson” on its headstock, it was born in 1980 from a design sketched on a napkin by the late, great Randy Rhoads and company founder Grover Jackson. The Pro Series is the mid-market Rhoads series.

Chosen specifically for their complementary sound, a pair of modern Seymour Duncan® pickups drives this guitar’s versatile sound — a crisp JB™ TB4 humbucking bridge pickup and warm ‘59™ SH1N humbucking neck pickup combine for highly balanced, flexible tone, with plenty of high output for pristine cleans and snarling distortion. The speedy neck profile is engineered for blazing guitar work, removing any obstacles to fleet-fingered playing and granting easier access to the upper frets. The ultra-fast one-piece maple neck bears a pair of graphite rods for reinforcement against the assaults of temperature and humidity, remaining true for unbeatable performance. The 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard is designed for highly technical lightspeed playing—more curved by the nut for comfortable chording, it flattens out as you move up the speedy neck for increasingly fast playing speed and wide bends without fretting out. The sensitive Floyd Rose® FRT-O3000 recessed double-locking tremolo adds expressive vibrato to notes and chords with the tap of a finger while working in concert with the Floyd Rose R3 locking nut for rock-solid tuning performance and precise intonation.

Named for the beloved guitarist, the Rhoads is one of the most revered, respected and recognized instruments in hard rock and metal. It’s so highly regarded by the metal-loving masses that it was voted “Legendary Guitar” in Guitar World magazine’s 25th anniversary reader’s poll in 2006. Like its creator, the Rhoads is peerless and untouchable—a timeless classic that will always endure and inspire.
