Dean Guitars expand their ’79 Series Guitars with new Dean 79 V Flame Top – built to the original specs of the original 1979 Deans including the oversized Series 2 V-shaped headstock, bound Maple top and zebra humbuckers. The difference with the Dean 79 V reissued in 2008 is the 2017 guitar has a Flame Maple top, comes in hardtail or Floyd Rose Special bridge plus it’s made in China not Korea…
The Dean 79 V Flame Top features a solid Mahogany body with a flat Flame Maple top (2-piece top, matched pieces). The neck is Mahogany with a V-shaped profile, glued-in construction, 24-3/4″ scale length, Rosewood fingerboard with white binding, abalone dot inlays, 12″ radius and 22 jumbo frets. The hardware features include a Tune-O-Matic bridge OR Floyd Rose Special bridge, dual DMT Design humbuckers, vintage 3-way switching and Grover tuners.
