The name “Gorgonized,” meaning “petrified,” comes from Greek mythology where the gorgon medusa was able to turn her enemies to stone. In these guitars, stone and gemstone tops offer a stunning look as well as a scratch resistant surface and environmentally sustainable design.

Gorgonized series guitars feature light mahogany bodies and sound chambers optimized for outstanding tonal characteristics. Thanks to their resonating stone tops, these guitars offer distinct acoustic volume, even unplugged. played through an amp, they deliver a well balanced sound that stays clear even in high gain. Even with their chambered bodies and stone tops, they aren’t prone to feedback. Every touch of the strings invokes a bold and sonorous tone. The variety of stone that can be used in the tops is almost endless, making each instrument one-of-a kind.

Zerberus Guitars founder Frank Scheucher continually explores exhibitions, dealers, and quarries in search of new colors and structures. A side benefit is that this beauty can be achieved without cutting down exotic forests. To make these guitars even more of an eye-catcher, LED technology can be used to illuminate the tops so that they seem to glow from the inside on a dimly lit stage. The stone surface is also highly scratch- and damage-resistant.
