The Mayones Hydra Elite 7 features a beautifully figured and naturally bound Eye Poplar top which comes in a variety of colour options, highly contoured Mahogany Sepele back and an Ebony fretboard. The neck is 5-piece Bubinga/Wenge bolt-on with a special neck joint construction with 6 screws. The headstock is a new Mayones feature – the S-CLAMP Headless Element. This is a protective brass heel that adds weight to balance the guitar in place of the headstock.
The pickups used on the Hydra Elite 7 are the Seymour Duncan Nazgul/Sentient set which are “forged to fathom the deepest of metal tunings, the Nazgûl and Sentient Set’s searing highs, grinding mids and tight bass define modern metal” – (Seymour Duncan)
