As part of the 20th anniversary of Korn, Ibanez unveil the new signature model for Brian ‘Head’ Welch – the Ibanez Komrad20RS Head Signature 7-string guitar with badass blood splatter finish…
Not only is the KOMRAD his main live axe, he also used it on all tracks of Korns’ recent release, Paradigm Shift. Features include a Basswood body, the 3-piece Wizard II-7 Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard and DiMarzio® Paf 7™ Pickups – made in the US, these pickups offer deep, warm & rich dynamics.
“Mine’s kinda far-out there looking. I like the blood splatter finish. I tried it a couple of years ago and have been using it ever since. I figured just stick with that for the signature model. I started playing the Ibanez RGD baritones a few years ago when I was doing the solo thing. When I came back to Korn obviously it had to be 7 strings. We just took the RGD’s, talked to Ibanez, came up with the 7-string, shortened the neck a little bit. I just really like the body shape – these horns – it’s like everything metal!” – Brian ‘Head’ Welch
