Chapman Guitars introduce the 2017 ML3 Pro Traditional. The Pro series are still built at the same factory in South Korea but with a higher spec than the 2016 range. The new mods include a thinner/lighter body, stainless steel frets, glow-in-the-dark fret marker dots and the Mojo Hand pickup set which has been specially voiced just for this model…
The Chapman ML3 Pro Traditional is a T-shape (ie: inspired by the Telecaster) guitar with loads of traditional, vintage mojo but with a modern edge. The body is crafted from lightweight Swamp Ash in a satin finish. The fretboard is Maple –
providing a snappy tone. The specially-voiced Chapman Mojo Hand single coil pickups ring true like a ten ton bell, broadcasting your finger tone all the way home.
The ML3 Pro Traditional comes in Shadow and Triton colours. The Triton colour was a “happy accident” according to Rob Chapman “we were aiming for a greeny-blue or aqua-blue which is why my wife named the finish “Triton” (the God of the Sea) and it came back looking like this. It’s like an aqua slate, like a submerged statue, it’s like a juvenile whale, it’s like a freshly deceased Smurf” 🙂
