Ibanez unleash new budget RG Series 8-string model. The RG8 features a 5-piece Maple/Walnut Wizard II-8 slim neck with a 27-inch scale length with down tuning. The basswood body has through-body stringing and a fixed bridge for maximum sustain while specially-designed Ibanez AH-18 and AH-28 humbucking pickups provide the grunt. The main differences with the RGA8 released in 2010 is the RGA8 has the FX EDGE lll-8 double-locking fixed bridge, LZ8-N and LZ8-B active pickups, mahogany body and is twice the price.
The mysteries of the 8-string have beckoned players everywhere, but until recently such exploration was the privilege of a lucky few. Now Ibanez opens up the 8-string world for the rest of us. The first name in seven and the leader in eight, shocks the competition with the RG8.
