Presenting the brand new M-tone Counterpunch. The Counterpunch is the latest addition to the M-tone line. This elegant, hand made single cut can be configured in a variety of ways to suit the needs of any player. It features your choice of any two Lollar pickups. The body is available as a slab or contoured in either alder or mahogany. The supple, hand carved neck comes in pau ferro, goncalo alves or maple and can be carved to your exact specifications. The pickguard is available in M-tone’s traditional 16 gauge steel or in the new wood option.

Like all M-tones, every Counterpunch is hand made one at a time by Matt Proctor in Portland, Oregon. The finish on each guitar is one of a kind and totally individual to that guitar.

M-Tone Counterpunch features:

  • Body: Alder or Mahogany standard (other woods available upon request)
  • String through the body design with steel or aluminum string plate
  • Compound curve cutaways
  • Jackbite™ shape shelters the input jack and works equally well with straight or angled plugs (Counterpunch model has a pickguard mounted input jack)
  • Weight: Ranges from 7.5 to 8.5 pounds – mahogany bodies and Pau Ferro necks put the guitar in the heavier range
  • 16-gauge steel pickguard and control cover
  • CTS pots
  • Switchcraft switches and input jacks
  • Sprague Orange Drop caps
  • Hipshot bridges and locking tuners
  • Pickup combinations: 2 humbuckers, 2 P90s, 3 single coils, or humbucker + single coil. Lollar pickups are standard. Other combinations and types available upon request.
  • Hand-carved necks
  • Maple neck standard (Goncalo Alves or Pau Ferro available upon request)
  • Maple necks have a satin or gloss finish. Other woods can have satin, gloss or oil finish
  • 25.5” scale
  • Split-level headstock
  • Bone nut
  • 12″ fingerboard radius
  • Aluminum position markers and side dots
  • Two-way truss rod accessible through pickguard cutout
  • M-tone standard C: approximately 0.825 @ 1st fret, 0.890 @ 12th fret
  • M-tone medium C/D: approximately 0.830 @ 1st fret, 0.910 @ 12th fret
  • M-tone beefy C/D: approximately 0.880 @ 1st fret, 0.940 @ 12th fret
