Supro Island Series Jamesport

Supro Island Series Jamesport Bronze

Supro guitars are reborn for the 21st century. The Supro Island Series Jamesport is modelled after Supro’s original 1962 Ozark guitar keeping many classic features, such as the uniquely contoured Ozark body, the single Gold Foil pickup, and the iconic Wave tailpiece. The new Island Series Jamesport uses modern construction techniques and is crafted from high quality parts and designed to perform even better than the originals…

The Supro Island Series Jamesport features an Alder body and set Maple neck with a unique satin portion on the playing area. The scale length is 25.5″ inches – longer than that of the Supro Americana series – the Rosewood fingerboard has a 12″ radius and rolled fretboard edges. The vintage-correct single Gold Foil pickup is based on an original design used by Valco in the 1950’s. The pickup is located right at the harmonic “sweet spot”, as seen on the original Supro Ozark.

The Jamesport guitar and its relatives in the Island Series represent the rebirth of the Supro brand as a stringed instrument manufacturer. The Supro Island Series of guitars was designed by David Koltai and Glenn Sweetwood, with technical assistance from master designer Trevor Wilkinson and vintage pickup expert Ken Calvet.
