In 2002, Line 6 launched Variax guitars, enabling guitarists for the first time to easily access a wealth of priceless vintage models from one instrument. Variax HD technology uses built-in digital signal processing to give players instant access to the sounds of highly coveted, classic electric guitars, as well as instruments one would normally not expect to hear from an electric guitar, such as banjo, sitar, or a 12 string acoustic. Alternate tunings, normally a minute-long exercise on the tuning pegs, can be set and recalled at the twist of a knob.

The Line 6 Variax Standard Limited Edition Emerald features a lightweight Alder body, one-piece Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard, and three custom-wound single-coil Alnico V pickups that serve up clear, full-bodied tone with harmonic richness. While it offers the classic looks, rock-solid build and addictive playability expected from a high-quality guitar, the real magic is in the on-board Variax HD modeling.
