The Jackson X Series Kelly KEX features a Basswood body which is a lightweight but resonant wood favoured by the high-gain metal players. The Basswood body-wings have a one-piece Maple neck with through-body construction with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint. The neck has a 12”-16” compound radius Rosewood or Maple fingerboard which gradually flattens toward the heel from its more rounded profile at the nut. There are 24 jumbo frets, scale length is 25.5″ (648 mm) and the dangerous body-shape is accented by the pearloid sharkfin inlays.
The hardware and electronics feature a pair of volcanic Jackson high-output humbucking pickups, master volume and tone controls, three-way toggle switch and a Jackson-branded Floyd Rose® licensed double-locking tremolo bridge.
