Ibanez celebrate their 30-year collaboration with Joe Satriani by unveiling the new JS1CR30 “Chrome Boy” limited edition signature model. the Ibanez R&D team worked closely with Joe to develop a finish that was worthy of Joe’s approval – and of the Chrome Boy moniker. The Ibanez Joe Satriani JS1CR30 Chrome Boy features a crafted body made from Alder with deep cutaways allowing for easy access to the highest frets. The neck is JS 3-piece Maple and Bubinga neck with a 25.5″ scale length and a Rosewood fretboard with 24 medium frets and Mother of Pearl dot inlays. The neck pickup is a Sustainiac Driver which works as an active humbucker with the tone pot push/pull you can play with three different octave settings. In the bridge position is the newly developed DiMarzio Satchur8 pickup plus there’s a 3-position switch which allows you to select how you’d like to use the pickups. The volume pot is also push/pull and controls a high-pass filter so you can maintain high frequencies even at low volumes. Hardware is Joe Satriani favourite specs including the JS/Edge Tremolo bridge, an Ultralite tremolo arm and the all-silver chrome finish.

It’s the 4th chrome guitar in the Ibanez JS series. The first one was the JS2 back in 1992, but it has been quickly moved back from the market because of chrome issues. Then Joe released the JS10th in 1998 with 507 models worldwide, and the last one was the JS2PRM in 2006.
